I seem to spend a lot of time at The Drake Underground these days. Maybe it's because the sound is so spot-on for such a small venue. Maybe it's because they host a lot of fantastic acts well-suited for their intimate space. Maybe it's because it's so close to my house that I could hit it with a rock from my front porch.
Either way, I'm going to be making my way over to the Underground on Wednesday to see Nurses, and so should you. Straight out of a city that fosters an obscene amount of the continent's best indie rock acts, the Portland-based group lives up to their town's reputation, creating just the kind of dreamy, experimental stuff that'll go best in Queen Street's favourite dark basement.
Take a listen, and I think you'll agree that this is what you need to see this week. And with support coming by way of Dominant Legs and Young Mother, you should definitely show up early.
