With Toronto once again abuzz with talk of TIFF, it seems like nobody's really paying much attention to events that aren't sporting the city's favourite acronym. But if you're not interested in burning away the week trying to spot celebrities, Active Child serves as the one visitor from Los Angeles that's worth stepping out to see.
The act is the main project of Pat Grossi, whose formal choral training rules heavily over his unique chillwave work incorporating analogue synths, clean tenor vocals, and some dreamy harp action.
What's more, people like to say that Active Child's live show even outshines the studio recordings. So, while his music is nothing short of cinematic, you can rest assured that his show will be the a good escape from the chaos of a city in the thralls of the film festival.
