Bundle up Toronto, because our city's most popular "all-night contemporary art thing" is coming this weekend and it's not going to be warm.
Throughout Downtown Toronto
Saturday, October 2nd 6:52pm - Sunrise, FREE
By no means let the weather deter you, though, because not only is this one of the most magical nights of the year, but it just may be Scotiabank's biggest and best yet. With a record-topping 400 participating artists this year, I thought I'd quickly break down the zones for you with what I'm looking forward to most, so you can get the most out of your white night this weekend:
ZONE A: Yorkville (Yonge St - Avenue Rd)
Check out the ROM's impressive Lee-Chin crystal to find your footsteps and figures mirrored on the magnificent structure with a larger-than-life video installation.
ZONE B-W: West of Yonge Street (to Queen St West)
Francois Truffaut's Day for Night will be projected at three frames per second (that's a 90 minute video transformed into 12 hours) at the Church of the Holy Trinity. Along with it, a live string quartet will perform the soundtrack at an equally mesmerizing pace… Whoa.

ZONE B-E: East of Yonge Street (to Queen St. West)
Nuit Market offers us actual vendors with fun bargains and an interesting take on an art installation. This pop-up shopping experience is a one-time-only deal and it takes place in the alleys on Victoria Street Lane.
ZONE C: Downtown South
For the entire duration of Nuit Blanche in Commerce Court, 60 dancers will form together creating a massive clock, which will symbolize the actual passing of time throughout the night. The minute hand will take the shape of a 60 second dance solo.

After your evening don't forget to vote for your favourite artist. Six iPads are up for grabs as well as a bunch of pre-paid Visa cards. There are three info stations in each zone where you can cast your ballot, or follow the People's Choice link below.
This year Scotiabank is supporting local charity, The Creative Works Studio. Through St. Michael's Hospital, this organization helps those with mental illness channel their road to recovery in creative ways. It's a great cause and since they're giving us this amazing event for free, it's a good idea to give back. Click the Donate for Hope link below.
