Fucked Up and $100
Toronto Reference Library
Friday, May 28th, 2010 at 8:00pm, free

Make Some Noise is a relatively new concert series featuring bands performing in some of the city's public libraries. And so it is that Friday night, the Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge St.) will play host to Fucked Up and local country favourites $100 (One Hundred Dollars). It should be awesome! And if you're thinking this is an odd pairing... maybe, but not necessarily. Members of $100 are in a (tongue-in-cheek) hardcore band of their own, LSDoubleDCup. Look to hear some new jams from the openers, and be sure to bring earplugs for the headliners.

There's no tickets, so if you're going, be sure to head there early. Doors open at 8:00pm, and everything should be all wrapped up by 11:00pm.

Other Good Bets

Also on Friday night Steam Whistle (255 Bremner Blvd.) is hosting another one of their Unsigned shows, this time featuring up-and-comers Whale Tooth, The Balconies, and Private Life (formerly Katie Stelmanis). Tickets available at the door for only $5, and all proceeds go (as usual) to the Artists' Health Centre Foundation. Highly recommended!

All weekend — Thursday through Sunday — the Pitter Patter Festival is taking over many venues in the downtown core, bringing pay-what-you-can concerts to whomever would like to go (19+ mostly, of course). Details over at the festival website. Acts as diverse and great such as Allie Hughes, The Craft Economy, Viviv, The Strumbellas, The Hoa Hoa's, and many more grace the stages, and those are just the ones playing Thursday night!
