With CMW having torn through the city last week, most of us are probably batting around the idea of licking our wounds and hibernating for a month or two. But, despite all the bar hopping you might've just done and the great tunes you might've just heard, there's still plenty of talent taking the stage this week that makes it worth putting your pants back on.
In support of their latest release The Clearing, North Carolina's favourite indie folk group Bowerbirds is on tour, and Collective Concerts has arranged to have them touch down at The Garrison on Tuesday for a show that I wouldn't want to miss, and neither should you. I could go on and on about why the band deserves all the acclaim they've gained, but you can figure out their quality on your own time (or by giving the video below a little look). What's key here is that their show is just the right fit to ease us out of the chaos of the passing festival. While Bowerbirds' music never comes up short on the spirit, they're just friendly enough not to jostle a headache out of that three-day hangover that we're all nursing.
So do you want to be in the audience? Tickets are still available at Rotate This and Soundscapes, and you may even squeeze in at the door for a modest price, if luck is on your side.
