The surprise guest at the Bovine on the Friday night of NXNE turned out to be my friends illScarlett.
Getting to see and photograph illScarlett in a venue as small as the Bovine was a new experience for me. The first time I connected with illScarlett was at a show of theirs at The Mod Club, and from there the venues only got bigger. At the Bovine on Friday, it was a late night set and the crowd, including this photographer, was getting messy. The show was loud and had a good, dirty feel to it, and that aura carried through the crowd and venue long after the the band left the stage.
