These Unsigned shows at Steam Whistle Brewing are turning out to be excellent. I've only been to two, but I've had a great time both nights, and the bands have put on really good shows.
The night started out with Five Star Trailer Park, for which I didn't arrive until the middle of their set. I kept thinking they were playing their last song, but there always seemed to be one more. I don't think I was the only one thinking that because they unfortunately seemed to lose some of the audience's attention before their fairly spectacularly strong finish. Ketch Harbour Wolves had the middle spot. They are a band I haven't seen in about three years, and their progress in that time has been massive. A truly enjoyable set. The night was capped off by an agressive set from Songs From A Room, a local band that I like to see every now and then for their screaming loud cathartic rock. They sounded great.
