To mark the release of their new album, Spoils Of Youth, Teenage Kicks played a headlining set at the Horseshoe with Poor Young Things and another foursome called Christian Punk Band there to help celebrate.

Teenage Kicks

A great set from Teenage Kicks playing a ton of new tunes managed to get the crowd at the Horseshoe worked up into a sweaty pile of humans. Sandwiching all their excellent own material between a Beatles cover and a Kiss cover, the crwod had plety of opportunities to rock out all night. Strong riffs, good musicianship, and a hard edge made for really good times. You can purchase their album on Bandcamp or pretty much anywhere else.

Poor Young Things

I've wanted to see Poor Young Things for quite some time now. I like what they are doing — solid Canadian Rock — and was blown away with how professional and tight they were. On-stage issues were handled with ease, and their set was truly incredible. They treated us to a new song, "Dance Like An Animal" that was definitely a highlight of the set.

Christian Punk Band

This young band had good times on stage, never once revealing their name, but instead claiming to be other bands, and sometimes joking about the names of the songs they were going to play. Lots of raw talent, considerably less Christian and somewhat less punk than advertised, made for a good warm-up.
