U2 were in Toronto to officially kick-off TIFF '11 with director Davis Guggenheim's documentary "From The Sky Down," the first time in 36 years that the festival has opened with a documentary.

Now twenty years after the release of Achtung Baby, "From The Sky Down" is a revealing documentary on a critical time in the band's history, a time when the band came very close to breaking up. The film also features previously unseen footage from Berlin and Dublin.

These photos of Bono and The Edge were taken at the Visa Screening Room (Elgin Theatre). The film has played three times in the past two days, and has one more screening scheduled at Ryerson on Saturday, September 17th at 6:00pm.
