Last week, the team behind the Live In Bellwoods series gathered an audience for another installment of their off-season answer for those yearnings for sunny afternoon performances in the park.

This time around, it was the back room of Chehoski that played host to Live Near Bellwoods, where tables were filled with a small crowd doused in cozy candlelight, sated by the fact that the location brought them about as close as anyone could come to seeing a show in Trinity Bellwoods without braving the mid-winter weather.

While the night wasn't without its snags, it was a fine way to spend the evening. Revelstoke's performance was curbed by a voice that was nearly lost, but he plugged on while his body betrayed him, and I expect his picture will soon be published alongside some definition of "A for Effort." LOOM's set, while plagued by forgotten music and one particularly drunk attendee, was charming nonetheless and sat well with the gentle ambience of the room.

Now hopefully, with a little positivity and a little mild weather, these shows will soon be moved back into the sunshine where they belong.
